The Big Cheese!Today's "Colour Me July!" sketch is a 'rough' featuring some happy mice having a great time exploring a wedge of cheese. The purpose of these roughs is to work out colour choices, scale of characters, costumes, etc. In each version i'll polish it up a little till i've got a finished piece that i'm happy with.
Have a creative day, and see ye tomorra! Davy Rory The Artist LionToday's "Colour Me July!" Sketch is another inhabitant of the 'Little Tickles' world. It's Rory the lion, the town's resident artist. Hope yer having a creative day.
See ye tomorra! Davy Ms Rabbit!Today's "Colour Me July!" sketch features Ms Rabbit. She's a character from the 'Little Tickles' world which i've slowly been creating. I'll add another character to the blog tomorrow and explain a bit more about the backstory! Hope you're having a fantastic day and i'll see ye tomorra!
Davy Jeely DonutToday's "Colour Me July!" sketch is a 'jeely donut' for you. It's 100% calorie free! When I was in my late teens back in the 1980's, no night out in my hometown of Campbeltown would be complete without stopping by the local bakers for some freshly made donuts! If you think Krispy Kreme donuts are yummy, then you ain't tasted nothing yet, and you should definitely pop into McIlchere's bakery when you visit Scotland's most picturesque wee holiday spot.
Have a creative day and see ye tomorra! Davy Ten Pin Bowling BeastieToday's "Colour Me July!" Sketch is a wee 'Bowling Beastie'. This wee ten pin bowling beastie looks as if he's just scored a strike!
Hope his cheeky wee grin puts a smile on your face. See ye tomorra! Davy Ballet Bears! Two little bears practise their ballet moves in today's "Colour Me July!" Sketch. I've been experimenting with brushes in the procreate app and found this little sketching pencil and 'softy' brush. I feel it adds a nice delicate touch which is particularly apt for dreamy, storybook style art.
Hope you're having a creative day! Davy Chameleon Robo-Pirate!Today's "Colour Me July!" Sketch is a Spacefaring Chameleon Robo-Pirate! As usual I just started doodling from scratch until he appeared. It was the left eye first and that led into what looked like a telescope type piece of machinery that held his eye in place. Telescope led to the pirate look with a peg leg and sword. Who knows what the next version will look like? I'm envisioning a little sidekick to sit on his shoulder tho!
Have a creative day, and see you tomorra! Davy Space LizardA happy space lizard says "cheers!" In today's "Colour Me July!" Sketch. Hope you have a creative day!
Davy Cheeky Pigeon!Today's "Colour Me July!" piece is of a cheeky wee pigeon that I saw in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. It had been a bit of a 'dreich' day, so I've challenged myself to 'loosen' up my sketching to show how rough the poor wee beastie was looking in the rain and wind! Hope you're having a creative day!
